The built-in charger for my Slim Pen 2 is a cool surprise and the hinge is really useful, though it's not for everyone, and it feels like it would not handle much force in the wrong direction at all. I will say using it as a hand-held tablet for any amount of time is clunky - it does weigh a bit in hand.īut it never ceases to impress me and so long as I give it a restart once a week or so, it's not even flinched against a 50 hour work week for almost a year now. The boot up is fast, the display is gorgeous, and the responses for things like rendering, bouncing, and drawing are much faster than my previous MBPr (2018). Rarely have any issues, and have a near constant assault of Revu, Revit, InDesign, Excel, and Pro Tools/Media Composer running. I daily drive my top-spec SLS daily as an engineer, and I absolutely love it. Same here, it was my biggest fear before I got my SP5 a few years ago. Weight is the primary issue when holding it.įor just notes I might prefer the Surface Pro, but I also want a laptop and while I was kind of surprised how well the kickstand + keyboard folio works, when I tried one for a week last year The thickness isn't really an issue as long as your hand rests entirely on the screen or besides it on the table laptops considered: xps13/15, flow z13, spectre 14 x360 already have an ipad (though i really hate it) already have a powerful desktop at home battery life is pretty good for this type of laptop although I already own an ipad, I find myself wanting to write some notes on my laptop as well. My hobby is photography and so sometimes I do use photoshop and a pen would be great. While a dGPU isn’t really a must in undergraduate level, it will definitely be helpful. I am majoring in Aerospace engineering and would be doing some CAD, CFD and Solidwork stuffs. I have considered multiple options but kept coming back into considering the SLS. My macbook is showing quite a lot of problems and I am currently looking for a replacement.
